Who We Are
How we operate
The Food Pantry is blessed by the generosity of many local churches, businesses, schools, clubs and individuals who faithfully support those in need in our community. Food donations are passed directly to our clients, and monetary donations are used to purchase supplemental food products at local grocery stores and the New Hampshire Food Bank.
Our story
Established in 1985, the Food Pantry, a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has provided assistance to a growing number of families. Our goal is to provide each member of a family with sufficient food to prepare twelve meals per week, as well as basic household necessities and personal hygiene items. In 2023 we served 241,388 meals.
There are currently two part-time employees: Kathy Davey, Food Coordinator, and Diane Rock, Food Pantry Coordinator.
The L.I.F.E. Ministries Board of Directors consists of up of two representatives from each of the seven local area sponsoring churches: All Saints, Wolfeboro; First Baptist, Wolfeboro; First Christian, Wolfeboro; First Congregational, Wolfeboro; Melvin Village Community, Tuftonboro; Saint Katharine Drexel, Alton; Tuftonboro Methodist, Tuftonboro.
Four at-large board members also serve.
The board meets monthly to oversee the Food Pantry’s operation and to manage its budget.
